Designer Bios

Madeleine Bickert of Decor Rx

Madeleine Bickert

As the lead designer of Décor Rx, Madeleine Bickert’s work and decorating ideas have been showcased in Cape Cod View, Prime Time Cape Cod, the Cape Cod Voice and other regional publications.

She established Décor Rx in 2005 following graduation from the Moore College of Art & Design in Philadelphia, where she completed their Decorative Arts for the Interior program. Earlier, she earned a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of California-Irvine, specializing in services marketing. The faculty named her the Top Marketing Student of her graduating class. Madeleine also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications.

Madeleine is a native of Massachusetts and a frequent editorial contributor on design topics to the Cape Cod Times newspaper and regional  lifestyle magazines.   She was the design columnist for Cape Cod View magazine for almost two years.  Her column, “Design Intervention,”  offered well-timed home design tips.   She is currently working on a book about home interior design.

She also regularly works as a Designer on Duty at Snow’s Home and Garden store in Orleans, and periodically leads seminars on coastal home design and real estate staging strategies.


Margery DeVito of Decor Rx

Margery DeVito

As design consultant, Margery brings a wide range of experience, expertise and inspiration in interior design and renovation.

After earning an Associate of Arts degree from Northwestern Michigan College, she studied architecture and interior design at Chamberlayne College of Boston.  She worked in Boston for 3 years for Janet Brown Interiors, handling interior design plans for model condominiums, working with both  developers and clients.

She later trained in wall finishes at the Chicago Institute of Fine Finishes, becoming assistant instructor and color theory expert.   Working with Renovation Style Magazine, she helped create faux finishes emulating the original tile patterns and colors for an Ernest Hemingway historic home in Oak Park, IL. She later became a faux finish instructor.

She has also created stencil and specialty wall finishes for upscale restaurants, remodeled residential properties in FL and managed remodeling projects for a Sun Valley, Idaho home developer.

As a licensed real estate agent for 10 years, her expertise in room layouts and colors helps homeowners successfully stage their properties.

In 2002, she relocated to Cape Cod to continue selecting finishes, colors, fabrics, and furnishings and managing overall design projects large and small.
